Congratulations and Happy Mother's Day to one of our great legal assistants, Clara Osborne, who graduated this weekend with her Bachelors of Art and Sciences from Regent University! She accomplished this while working full time at the office, and we could not be more proud.
To our lawyer friends in Kansas’ 3rd Congressional District:
Please join us in supporting Thomas E. Hammond, II, for the open position on the Kansas Supreme Court Nominating Commission, representing the 3rd Congressional District. Ballots should be arriving at your home in the very near future, and voting is due no later than May 15, 2020. Thomas is best suited for this challenging position and has the support and respect of judges and lawyers from our district. Thomas has the right temperament, personality and experience to join the other members of the Commission in making excellent recommendations of judicial candidates to the Governor.
I have known Thomas for over ten years; he is uniquely qualified for this position and will be an excellent addition to the Supreme Court Nominating Commission. His demeanor and approach to practicing law is ideal for serving in such a capacity. Thomas is a very good lawyer having experience in several practice areas, including family law, workers compensation, personal injury, eminent domain, appellate, mediation and business litigation. In addition to maintaining a busy law and mediation practice, Thomas has also volunteered to serve in a variety of positions to support the local bar association and important statewide initiatives. Thomas is well liked by his peers, the judges and trusted to serve as a mediator to assist in resolving conflict by other attorneys. Thomas has maintained an AV ethical rating and is regularly asked to serve as a Judge Pro Tem in Johnson County District Court. Thomas is the chairman of the Kansas Client Protection Committee (CPC), which is appointed by the Kansas Supreme Court. As the chairman of the CPC, Thomas has worked hand in hand with the Disciplinary Administrator’s office to help clients who have had funds misappropriated by their attorneys. Furthermore, in this capacity he has represented the State of Kansas at the ABA Forum for Client Protection for the last 5 years. Since 2008, Thomas Hammond has worked on 3 important state and regional campaigns to assure that politics are left out of our court system and the merit-based system of electing judges is preserved. We are confident that when Thomas is elected, he will continue to work hard to make sure the Kansas Supreme Court has the best, brightest and most qualified judges.
Thomas is seeking to fill is an open position on the Commission in the 3rd Congressional District. This is an important and significant responsibility that is an integral part of the merit-based system for selecting members of our highest court in Kansas. While there are several qualified candidates seeking this same position, Thomas Hammond is best qualified to fill this position. We humbly ask that you join us in supporting our colleague, law partner and friend, Thomas E. Hammond, II.
