🔹What does a day in the life of a Customer Sales Executive look like?
“You start on the phones the minute you walk in and provide proper updates to customers to ensure their products get from point A to point B.”
🔹Which two qualities do you believe are necessary to have to be successful in this role?
“You have to be passionate about sales. You also have to be patient because the grind can take a toll on you if you aren’t.”
🔹What do you enjoy about this role?
“I enjoy developing relationships with new customers and maintaining relationships with current customers.”

“Rejection because who likes rejection?”
🔹What advice do you have for a new Customer Sales Executive?
“Trust the process that is put in place by the management team. Lean on senior sales executives for advice and encouragement.”

Gateway Logistics, Inc. is looking for a motivated, relationship-driven Operations Specialist who is willing to learn the transportation industry and put their communication skills to use!
What You Will Do:
• Utilize truck sites to build up a carrier base.
• Develop relationships with new carriers and maintain relationships with current carriers.
• Negotiate competitive rates with carriers based off current market rates.
• Monitor progress of shipments daily to ensure coverage, on-time performance and addressing any mid-transit issues.
• Collaborate with our Customer Sales team to find the best transportation option for our customers.
• Communicate load statuses, issues, and concerns to Customer Sales Reps.
• Follow safety procedures to make sure you are doing business with qualified carriers.
What We Will Do:
• Provide you with a competitive base salary, plus uncapped commission.
• Let you choose the benefits that fit you from our comprehensive benefit program, including medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance. There is a health savings account option as well.
• If you participate in our 401k program, we will match funds by 3%.

Qualifications:
• Industry experience is a huge PLUS.
• Must be willing to work outside of the 8AM-5PM Mon-Fri business hours when the job requires it.
• Need to be deadline and detail oriented.
• Must be organized and excel at multitasking.
• Know how to build relationships with individuals over the phone.

Kenny joined our Carrier Sales team and hit the ground running. His natural ability to build relationships with carriers has made him one of our strongest players. We all want positive, self-driven individuals on our team, right? We get that and then some with this guy.
Check out Kenny’s responses to the questions below:
1.)What keeps you moving forward even on the tough days?
My faith, and my wife! Knowing no matter what is going on at any particular moment that God will sustain me and that my wife supports me. I always know no matter how tough the day, it will be worth it in the end.
2.) What is your favorite local restaurant?
Roosters, no doubt. Their wings can’t be beat.
3.) What do you enjoy doing outside of work hours?
I spend a lot of time volunteering at my church, especially playing music for our Middle School/High School, and main services. I really enjoy listening to all types of music and playing and learning new music in my free time.
4.) What advice do you have for someone considering the Carrier Sales role at Gateway?
You won’t find a better work culture anywhere around. There’s a grind to coming in here and building up a carrier base and good relationships, but it is so rewarding each and every time you build those relationships and the management team will empower and support you each step of the way.
5.) What do you enjoy most about working at Gateway?
Aside from the culture which I already mentioned, I think I really love how satisfied I feel in my work. My personality and strengths really lend themselves to relationship building and I love negotiating with people and getting a deal done. Being empowered and supported in doing those things leaves me feeling really fulfilled in what I do which makes me excited about coming to work each day!
6.) Who is someone that inspires you and why?
All of my grandparents. Their hard work, love for their family, and faith in Christ inspire me every day.
7.) Which state have you enjoyed visiting the most and why?
California! Specifically southern Cal. I love the mountains all over the place, there’s so much to do, and the weather is basically perfect all the time!
8.) What is a fun fact about you many people may not know?
I am usually a super cautious person, but I have a secret love for cliff jumping into water. I’ve jumped off of a few cliffs in KY into lakes, and jumped off a cliff in San Diego into the Pacific Ocean.
9.) How do you define success?
I think success is defined in leading both others and yourself to an accomplishment of a goal. Most people in life work on some form of a team, and also set goals for themselves. Taking steps each day to reach those goals yourself, and help others reach theirs is success to me.
10.) When are you happiest?
When I am with people in any capacity. I am a huge people person so I love working together with the team here at work, being with my friends outside of work, and being at church.
