Pixie is a fiery little pistol with a high prey drive. She is looking for an adopter who can handle her spunk, has lots of space to run and can provide her with lots of stimulation. We consider her an Underdog because her need for lots of outdoor time and a job to keep her busy deems her a little more challenging. Pixie is definitely not an indoor couch pal. Hello Howard! This fluffy fuzz ball is a floppy gentle guy. Not certain of his breed, but he is certainly made of everything nice. About 6 years old and currently a little chunky at 70 pounds. While the great folks at Worcester County Humane work on whittling his waistline, they will also prepare this loveable Underdog for ACL surgery. WCHS will be paying for all of his medical costs as his condition was pre existing. We all would love to get him into a home in time for his recovery. We are nearing the end of our Adopt A Dog A Day drive on behalf of Worcester County Humane Society - striving for 31 dog (or cat) adoptions for October.
Today we are giving an extra shout out for Waximus. This big goof is a good boy in training. He has low confidence in himself and it takes him a little extra time to be comfortable with new people. Abby and her family had the chance to take a respite trip to Deep Creek last week and her smile says everything about how much fun they had!
They enjoyed the snowy outdoors but also had tons of fun spending time together inside, staying cozy and warm. You can’t beat the smile on Abby’s face after completing that huge puzzle!
Our respite program offers a unique way to promote healing and recovery for the whole family. It also creates an exciting experience to look forward to for children that are battling a critical illness. It can be a way to motivate them and keep them believing in tomorrow.
We are so grateful for the opportunity to make these sweet kids smile and help them heal during a very challenging time in their lives.
