Several years ago it dawned on me that my pizzeria could be used for more than just pizza, and that we could have a positive impact on our community. These types of endeavors are highly satisfying to me, and I'm hoping that you will come along for the ride!
This go around, we have partnered with Mental Health America of Northwest Indiana. This is a fantastic community based organization that is doing wonderful work in our community. In my opinion, strengthening families through early childhood development and parent education is a powerful tool in preventing many of the ills that plague our society. I am a firm believer that the solution to many of our societal problems starts in the home, with strong families.
I've committed to gathering some supplies, and then we'll turn them loose to MHA of NWI so they can do what they do best. There's even something in it for you. Drop off any supplies listed in the photo, and we'll give you a $5 Gelsosomo's Crown Point gift card to use any way you please. 1 card per visit please.
Drop off one of the "big" items like a new high chair or stroller, and we will enter you into a drawing for a $250 Gelsosomo's Crown Point gift card.
The weekend following the drop off campaign, we will host a final fundraiser. I will email out a voucher, and if you bring it in with you to eat we will donate 15% of your purchase price to MHA of NWI.

With the recent rise in Covid cases, we find ourselves again with another unique opportunity to be a conduit between our community and the healthcare workers that serve us.
These fine folks are laying it all on the line right now. This is incredibly hard, but we are a resilient community. If you care to help, together we can make something really cool happen.
Below is a Meal Train link. For every $10 donated, we will provide 1 pizza for hospital workers in Crown Point, just as we did earlier in the spring. Our hope is to feed every worker.

Friends, remember back in March and April when everyone banded together to help out local restaurants? That was awesome and we are all so grateful for it. Well, things have quietly gone back to that level of struggle.
Staffing levels are at an all-time low. Very few people are applying, even when using professional services. On top of that, many employees are having to quarantine with the latest increase of covid. Owners and General Managers are working ridiculous hours just to keep the doors open, on a shoestring staff.
To add insult to injury, sales have taken a blow the past few weeks as the virus scare ramps up again.
I'm asking, if you're in a favorable financial position, would you consider again supporting local, family owned restaurants for carryout? Please avoid third party delivery if you can, as it hurts the restaurant.
EVEN IF IT'S NOT MY RESTAURANT, please support local. I don't even care if you order from my closest competitor.....they are great people. We have been very blessed. I'm just trying to bring awareness for my colleagues in the restaurant world. I know your struggle and feel your pain. Hang in there guys!

We reached an important milestone yesterday. We're certainly not perfect, and have a lot of work to do, but we hit a 4.9 in our Facebook rating.
This is an extremely difficult thing to accomplish considering the amount of reviews we have.
