It’s no secret that Christmas treats can be tough on your teeth. Here are some tips to stay cavity-free this holiday season!
1. Balance sugary contaminants with other foods: Eating sugary and carb-rich foods as part of a balanced meal can lessen their impact on your teeth.
2. Avoid sticky, sweet items: Replace sticky foods with more dilute food items! For example, swap caramels and candy canes with plain dark chocolate.
3. Brush afterward: It is always advisable to brush after meals. If your food contains acid then brush after 30 minutes. Acid can soften the enamel, so brushing too soon can actually damage your teeth.
