Larry Propst, DDS, is a perceptive and knowledgeable dentist providing exceptional services at Gentle Dental at Rivergate in Goodlettsville, Tennessee.
Skillfully merging a successful blend of holistic and conservative dental medicine, Dr. Propst provides a range of dental procedures and treatments, such as crowns and bridges, dentures, Invisalign® teeth straightening, dental implants, and full mouth rehabilitation. He’s a fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and an expert in oral surgery, periodontal surgery, orthodontics, and endodontics.
Dr. Propst was in the USAF dental corps from 1967 to 1971 before attending Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Dr. Propst obtained his doctor of dental surgery degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry in Kansas City, Missouri in 1978, where he graduated 84th in his class out of 160. He spent much of his time in dental school as a phlebotomist and medical laboratory technician.
Dr. Propst was also trained in exodontia at Cam Rahn Bay, Vietnam, from 1969 to 1970, where he was assistant to the oral surgeon and responsible for extracting infected teeth.
For his last assignment in the military at Eglin Air Force Base in Western Florida, Dr. Propst completed advanced dental training and acted as assistant base dental surgeon at the Hurlburt Field satellite base. He performed rotations through the endodontic training department at Eglin and oversaw the endodontics department. He spent the last six months of his Air Force career practicing endodontics.
To further his knowledge and skill set, Dr. Propst has completed over 1,850 hours of documented continuing education credit with the Academy of General Dentistry. Recognized for his hard work, Dr. Propst was also awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal.
Dr. Propst has ample experience practicing dentistry. He was previously a general dentist in the USAF Dental Corp from 1978 to 1987. He was also a general dentist at Williston Family Dental in Lake Mary, Florida; at Coast Dental in Tallahassee, Florida; and at Embassy Dental in Nashville, Tennessee. From 1987 to 2008 Dr. Propst was the owner and general dentist at his private practice Larry A. Propst DDS.
