George M. Halow, MD, PA, serves patients in El Paso, Texas, and surrounding areas, providing gastroenterology and nutrition services. He and the practice’s bilingual staff take pride in offering state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment for a range of digestive disorders, including stomach pain, ulcers, reflux, constipation, and Crohn's disease. Known for his tenacity, Dr. Halow doesn’t rest until he arrives at the correct diagnosis and treatment for each and every patient.
A graduate of the University of Texas at El Paso, Dr. Halow earned his medical degree at Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, in Jalisco, Mexico. He went on to complete an internship in internal medicine followed by two fellowships in gastroenterology: one at Medical College of Pennsylvania and the second at the University of Pennsylvania. He then completed nutrition research and a fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh.
A member of the El Paso County Medical Society, Dr. Halow maintains affiliations with a number of local medical centers. These include Las Palmas Medical Center, Mesa Hills Specialty Hospital, Providence Memorial Hospital, and Sierra Medical Center.
Dr. Halow holds three patents and has delivered medical presentations and authored scholarly papers. His paper, “Plasma amino acids in liver transplantation: correlation with clinical outcome,” appeared in the medical journal Surgery.
