Dr. Hayes B. Gladstone, is a gifted and renowned dermatologic surgeon providing a variety of reconstructive and cosmetic services from the Gladstone Clinic, located in San Ramon, California. His patients travel from all over the country for his expert treatments for men and women ranging from face lifts, eye lifts, liposuction and laser skin rejuvenation to treatments for skin cancer including Mohs surgery and reconstruction.
Dr Gladstone graduated Summa Cum Laude on both his honors thesis and B.A. degree. He then earned a Master’s Degree with distinction from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. Prior to medical school, he was an award winning sports editor and photojournalist in Colorado. Dr. Gladstone earned his medical degree at the University of Rochester, then went on to serve his residency in dermatology at the University of Washington. Dr. Gladstone has also been awarded prestigious fellowships in dermatology, Moh’s surgery, and cosmetic surgery.
Dr. Gladstone is active in professional societies. He has been on the Board of Directors and the past President of the San Francisco Dermatology Society as well as the Board of Directors and past President of the Pacific Dermatology Association, the largest regional dermatology society in the United States. He was also on the Board of Directors of both the San Mateo Division and the California Division of the American Cancer Society. Dr Gladstone is currently on the Board of Directors of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery.
Dr. Gladstone has lectured worldwide on his cosmetic and reconstructive techniques. He has been the editor of educational videos on both cosmetic procedures and reconstruction for the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, the specialty’s primary surgical society. He was the Program Chair of the 2015 Annual Meeting. He has been the past Director of the Advanced Cosmetic Surgery Course at the American Academy of Dermatology Annual Meeting. He has served on Master Reconstruction Panels here and abroad, and was selected for the prestigious Iron Surgeon Competition.
Dr. Gladstone has 100 publications on mohs surgery, reconstruction and aesthetic procedures including nearly 30 chapters, and is the co-editor of a well received book on cosmetic procedures that has been translated into several languages.
Dr. Gladstone feels fortunate to be in the field of medicine, and privileged to treat patients. It is important for him to give back. Throughout medical school and residency he volunteered at homeless clinics. For 11 years, he volunteered and supervised dermatology at the student run Stanford Medical School homeless clinic in Menlo Park. He is the co-founder with Murad Alam, MD of Northwestern of the Blade and Light Society and is the President of Blade and Light International. This is a nonprofit organization (www.bladelight.org) that sends teams of fellowship trained mohs surgeons abroad to teach and perform volunteer mohs surgery and reconstruction. The most recent trip was to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
