Several Oral Surgeons refer their patients only to Dr. Schauer to rebuild the smile/teeth after surgery because he is an artist with dental restorations and veneers. Dr. Schauer enjoys a general practice including routine cleanings and exams using digital X-Rays, Laser assisted technology, and Magnification Loupes to ensure cavities are detected at the earliest stage in order to minimize damage to the tooth. The office prides itself on pain free cleanings and procedures. Crowns, Teeth Whitening & Root Canals are all done in this office. The use of a soft tissue laser to treat gum disease when needed is incredible and generally much less painful and more effective than traditional treatments. If the patient wants to watch movies while getting dental work done, they can wear glasses that provide a virtual big screen TV and block out everything else around them. History
Established in 1984.
Dr. Schauer attended the University of Texas School of Dentistry. He graduated in 1981 and practiced from 1981 to 1984 in Elgin. He opened his practice in Austin in 1984. He soon gained a reputation with area oral surgeons for doing incredible work when designing teeth after they had done surgery on patients. He is well known now for doing beautiful artistry when it comes to making new smiles when the teeth are broken, not shaped well, have gaps, very discolored, etc. He enjoys the artistry of this work alongside his regular dental practice of doing white fillings, crowns, root canals, exams after routine cleanings by the hygienists in the office, or treatment of gum disease with a soft tissue laser when needed. He is a kind and gentle person who has a calming, down to earth personality. He has three wonderful children, a 19 year old son who is in college and a set of twin little girls, who are almost 3 years old.

Alan Schauer (pronounced like rain shower) went to undergraduate school at Texas Tech where he majored in Chemistry & graduated with honors. He graduated from University of Texas Dentistry School in 1981. His office prides itself on having the best dental technology available and because he is so widely respected with the oral surgeons and other medical professionals in Austin, many doctors and their families choose to use Dr. Schauer for their dentist. There are oral surgeons in the Austin area that refer their patients only to Dr. Schauer after surgery because he does such detailed, beautiful work. They know that he will make them look good and that the patient will be well cared for. Dr. Schauer has a reputation for being kind & gentle, and he cares that his patients are comfortable.
