The 2020-21 flu vaccine is here! And we are now scheduling DRIVE-THRU FLU CLINICS! Here are three ways to get your annual preservative-free quadrivalent flu shot or Flumist (the nasal flu vaccine):
1) During your regularly scheduled appointment (sibs and parents can get their vaccines at this time, too);
2) Make an office visit just for flu vaccine;
3) During our DRIVE-THRU FLU CLINICS! These clinics will be on Saturday mornings, by appointment only

Today the doctors and staff of Glendale Pediatrics joined the national White Coats For Black Lives movement and kneeled for 10 minutes in silent observance against racism.

IMPORTANT for our Anthem patients: WE TAKE ANTHEM PPO INSURANCES AS WE DID BEFORE. Anthem sent letters to many of our patients stating that we are no longer within network. We believe this is an error that may be associated with a recent update of our CHLA Health Network contract with them, and we are working with Anthem to correct this issue.
Flu Shots are in!
Glendale Pedaitrics and the American Academy of Pediatrics recommend that all children 6 months and older receive the flu vaccine annually. Please call our office during business hours to schedule your flu vaccine appointment. We will have Flu Clinic hours on Saturday mornings starting in September and throughout the fall. If your child is already scheduled to come in for a check-up appointment this fall, he or she can receive the flu vaccine at that visit. This year we have the injectable influenza vaccine only. Children under 8 years of age who are receiving their first flu vaccine will need 2 in total (separated by at least 4 weeks).

Take that, COVID-19! The doctors at Glendale Pediatrics were excited, relieved and hopeful after receiving their COVID-19 vaccines. We can see the beginning of the end of this pandemic on the horizon ... but until then, please continue to mask, socially distance and wash your hands!
