Last week we started our "Believe It, Achieve It" mobility campaign, which promotes chronically ill pediatric patients to stay mobile. With the support of Varsity Sports, Saucony and GMFS Mortgage, our therapy team is working closely with the nursing team to cheer on our patients as they get up and moving!

RtBR works every day, rain or shine. As another tropical system threatens the area with heavy rain, our crew is building a wheelchair ramp to enable a stroke affected homeowner have a safe entry and exit to his home. This homeowner was a virtual prisoner in his home until RTBR showed up. Now he can go to medical appointments and do other things for himself. RTBR makes a difference in people’s lives!

Sweet LeAnna leaving the hospital with her "new heart". Prayers to continue for her body not to reject her new heart. Thanks for the prayers and thanks for continue to pray!!!! If you don't believe in miracles and prayers, well here is a one, right before your eyes!!!!! Remember, she not only had heart issues, she had other complications that was very rare and had to treat the complications before she could get a heart!!!!

GMFS had the honor of working with Rebuilding Together Baton Rouge to help Officer Ricky Faust, a Baton Rouge Police Officer who was injured in the line of duty in 2017. The new wheelchair accessible ramp allowed Officer Faust the ability to come back home after 43 months of being away. He is excited to have his family and dog back home. Thank you Officer Faust and Rebuilding Together BR for all that you do for the community.

Mallory D. was a star student and accomplished dancer at home in Sulfur, LA when one day in class she got and intense headache, lost all control of her left side. It was discovered to be caused by an unusual brain bleed.
Today she is a Super Star in the Varsity, GMFS Mortgage's "Believe It. Achieve It" program at Our Lady of the Lake Children's Health. The idea is to incentivize patients to stay active and engaged in their own recovery.
Three surgeries and weeks later, Mallory has earned a pair of Saucony Rides for her hard work.

PLUMBER needed with a desire to help a 79 year old widow in Baton Rouge! RTBR wants to help Ms Lillie be able to shower safely. She hasn’t been able to bath in a very long time. We need to remove her tub then install a pre-fab shower. It is a little more complicated than our staff feels comfortable with. If you are a licensed plumber in BR and can spare a 1/2 day or day to help us, we’ll demo and install if you’ll plumb!! Please email us at director@rtbr.org to help. ❤️
