Got Drought? is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness about the environmental impacts of animal agriculture, especially in terms of water use and water pollution. This project is designed to raise awareness about the benefits of vegan living, particularly in California, by highlighting the link between animal agriculture and water consumption at this time of severe drought. While we will specifically raise awareness in California, we believe that trend-setting California can potentially spread our message acrossthe country and even across the globe. We propose a billboard and social media campaign that will coincide with an interactive website, an art exhibition, lobbying and petitions to government officials. Billboards are a relatively cheap option that is particularly effective in a state with an entrenched car culture. According to estimates, one billboard in the Los Angeles area is viewed over 1,000,000 times in just one month. Billboards are hard to ignore and can't be turned off. For these reasons, we believe billboards are the most effective way to have ourmessage reach a diverse cross section of the population.
