#TBT Opened to the public on December 7, 1914, the Chicago, Milwaukee, & St. Paul Railway brick passenger station is dominated by a 135 foot tower, featuring its lighted logo in tile. Along with its “sister” tower on the former Great Northern Depot, the Mission Revival style Milwaukee Depot dominates Great Falls’ riverfront skyline. Now used as offices, the restored depot is a shining example of the value of adapting historic buildings to new uses. The old railroad bridge across the Missouri River has also been saved, now serving as a pedestrian and bicycle bridge as part of the River’s Edge Trail system. Can anyone remember what the depot was used for after passenger service was discontinued in the 1960s?
