The Greater Sacramento Society of Plastic Surgeons (GSSPS) was created to support excellent practice in plastic surgery. This is a two-pronged approach with educational meetings monthly, as well as peer review and ethical discussions. The Society supports safe practices and strives to keep the community away from nontrained physicians preforming cosmetic surgery.
Membership requirements include being trained in plastic surgery, being American Board of Plastic Surgery eligible or qualified, and running an ethically approved practice within the greater Sacramento community.
We support the education of residents training in plastic surgery at the University California Davis Plastics surgery program and are affiliated with the California Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
Members volunteer around the world supporting disadvantaged children and peoples in need, and we support specific issues, such as breast cancer research and anti-aging research. We are politically active in supporting causes and bills that promote patient safety and best practices in plastic surgery throughout the region.
Our intent is to educate and promote plastic surgeons within our community and to build bridges for collaboration. We work closely with industry and the university in order to keep our community on the cutting edge of technology and advances in health care. We crowd source to solve difficult issues and support each other to provide the best possible outcomes.
