Green-Oak Preschool

Dear Preschool Friends, After great consideration, the church, preschool board and Myself , have decided Green-Oak will not be open for the 2020-2021 school year. As you are all aware schools at all levels are figuring out if/when/how they will continue to provide classes in the fall. Preschool is no exception. I have been working through the new rules and safety precautions that will be required in order for us to offer classes this coming school year.I think that the requirements would interfere with the quality of our program to an extent that makes it unreasonable to try to have preschool this coming school year. Some of the issues are: Parents not allowed in the building: they would drop their child off, wait while the child's temperature is taken, and they are told their child can stay. We would not be able to use the playroom or the music room. Children must wash their hands at least three times while they are in school. Children must be socially distanced - 6 ft apart. If a case of covid19 occurs among one of our children or staff, the entire class will have to quarantine for 14 days. We would not be able to have breakfast with Santa or other special programs that would allow groups of more than 10. These are only some of the regulations which may change (relaxed or increased) at any time, or schools may once again be shut down if a spike in coronavirus occurs. We will be returning registration fees in the next few weeks, starting in August. We would appreciate no negative comments on this post. This was a very difficult decision. We hope that all of you are safe and well. We hope to register for the 2021-2022 school year in early 2021!
