There has been attack after attack by the Trump administration against our best protections for birds. Now comes this: a plan that spells disaster for shorebirds—and leaves coastal communities vulnerable to storms like never before.
We know that we’re all connected: what’s good for birds and the environment is also good for people. The Coastal Barrier Resources Act protects 3.5 million acres of coastal land, which provides a safe habitat for shorebirds and an essential buffer against storms for people in those regions. But if the administration succeeds in letting special interests plunder these lands, birds and people alike will suffer.
During this crazy time we are going through people are turning to nature as a way to get out but be safe. It is a time when people are hungry for nature in ways that are both heartbreaking and beautiful. Unfortunately America is being robbed of its birds and wildlife. The White House has ignored the bipartisan legacy of the Migratory Bird Treaty Act but the Audubon Society and others are working in Congress and the courts to defend it.
We take care of birds not only for their sake, and not only for our own. Investing in birds is an investment in our planet: a way to create a healthier world and a better future. Our efforts to protect nature will pay off for generations to come, ensuring that our children and grandchildren will inherit a planet full of life—including birds.
I like to think that working with GreenBird products may inspire a youngster to think green and love nature. One of the most important lessons you can teach a young nature lover is the connection between birds and plants. And not just any plants—native plants, the ones that have evolved in that place along with all the other living things there. Native plants provide food sources like seeds, nuts, fruit, and flower nectar all year long. Plus, they can protect birds from weather, predators, and offer places to build their nests and lay eggs in the spring.
Native trees are the ideal shelter for birds to nest and feed their young. Native oak trees can harbor up to 100 times more caterpillars and other healthy foods that chicks need to thrive, compared to exotic plant species.
Known scientifically as the Passerina Siris, the male Bunting is dubbed as the most beautiful male bird in the United States are even said to have flown straight out of a children's color book. The bird's plumage is so well admired, their French name nonpareil, translates to "beyond equal".

Meet Painted Bunting, The Most Colorful Bird Native To The United States
Birds enrich our planet and touch our lives. They capture our hearts and move us to connect with nature. Birds are beautiful, interesting to watch and they simply sing to us.
Unfortunately, birds today face an onslaught of environmental hazards. Habitat destruction and degradation are taking a toll even on some of our most common species across the hemisphere.
At GreenBird we have worked to help birds by providing totally green products for wild birds. We provide the biodegradable paperboard birdhouse to improve their habitat. Many birds have disappeared due to loss of habitat due to urban sprawl, deforestation, pesticides and global warming.
This Spring we have our GreenBird House on sale for $8.50. They are fun to assemble, paint and decorate and make a great project for kids of all ages! Visit our website today; https://www.greenbirdhouse.com/the-greenbird-house

Continental Who’s Who Executive Press Release: David W. Allen - Owner
So many things that we all enjoy have stopped due to Covid 19. No more sporting matches, dining out, hugging friends or even enjoying birding events.
The birds still migrate and we can enjoy the sight and songs from them in our yards or hiking in the woods. Unfortunately over 50 bird celebrations have been cancelled. The Biggest Week in American Birding will draw around 90,000 people and injects some $40 million into northwest Ohio’s economy. That was a huge loss for the area and it may happen again in 2021.
At least now you can get outside and enjoy the birds that abound there. Do so and look forward to the time when we can once again gather with friends and fellow bird lovers to enjoy birds together.
GreenBird houses are fun to decorate. A great way to spend time at home during this pandemic. Decorate to keep them indoors to enjoy or outdoors to enjoy them and the birds they attract.
One of the things I enjoy about fall is when the Purple Cone Flowers go to seed. While they are lovelier as a blooming flower, when they go to seed they attract goldfinches who love to eat the seeds. The goldfinch is one of the most common backyard species in almost every region of the country. It is also one of the most colorful. That contributes to the answers to a survey asking which North American bird people would most like to see: the goldfinch. For me seeing their brilliant gold plumage contrasting with the purple of the cone flowers is always a delight.
