For settlements , please please please read this . Do’s and dont’s .
If your bill in collections is $1000, offer $100. Sounds silly and crazy but ok if you know you have $500 and that’s half of the balance, don’t willingly just give up that $500 because they can come back with a counteroffer and say “no sorry my spvr didn’t approve it but he said $650”.. it doesn’t give yourself any type of space to negotiate.
It totally depends on who has your account and if it’s in collections. It could be in collections but in collections with Chase . Chase btw is an example of who takes 10% of the balance so if it’s $3000, yes We’ve seen them take $300 or less .
There are 3 collection agencies that do pay for deletion - you don’t need it in writing - it’s in their policy and on their website : LVNV , Midland & portfolio ! They all take at least 50% off automatically too!
