Dr. Harari and Jacki had a Zoom meeting with the students of Ridge View. They shared not only about their individual career paths—how they got where they are, and what they do now that they’re here—but also about the various branches of veterinary medicine, of which the small animal medicine we practice is only one. Mary Harmon, client and Richland District Two employee, brought us the best gift afterwards! A festive Boston terrier cookie jar filled with fresh, homemade chocolate chip cookies! We’re thankful for the opportunity to share our passion with others and for Mary’s thoughtful gift.

Meet the cats of the Greiner family, Maggie May (aka Fatty Kitty) and Khal Drogo (aka Baby Kitty)! Fatty Kitty was attacked by a dog at 3 months of age and suffered a fractured left humerus that required surgical repair. Unable to afford surgery, her former owners surrendered her to the clinic where Dr. Greiner worked, and Dr. Greiner adopted her. Now 9 years old, Fatty Kitty spends her time playing with feathers, trying to go outside even though she isn’t supposed to, and laying in baskets. As for Baby Kitty, it’s been 3 years since Dr. Greiner’s husband found him in a seed orchard in the low country all by himself at 6 weeks old. He loves rolling over onto his back, laying by the fireplace and underneath the Christmas tree, his crunchy ladybug toy, and opening and closing doors.
Happy New Year to all of our wonderful clients! We wish you and your family a happy and healthy New Year and look forward to seeing you and your pet soon!

A client requested a virtual look at our kennel since our building is closed to clients. One of our primary kennel assistants Danielle took this request as an opportunity to share some of the ways we operate our kennel: “We have bins for all your pets’ belongings. If you bring something you want to stay with your pet (like a blanket), we’ll gladly set them up with it. If it gets dirty during their stay, we have a washer and dryer we can use to clean it for you. We have a bathing area if you want your pet bathed; our baths also include anal gland expression, nail trim, and ear cleaning. There’s a small dog room for your tiny fur babies, and then we have our larger kennel runs. Sometimes we get puppies who aren’t fully potty trained, but that’s okay because we have a water hose and kennel cleaners we use to make sure everything is as clean and fresh as possible (hence some water in-between the kennels in the photo). When you schedule to board with us, we’ll send you a boarding form which lets you tell us everything we need to know about your fur baby.”
