How long have you been in the mortgage business and what inspired you to get into it?
I’ve been in the Industry for the past 4 years. I was inspired to join based off of the service I received when I was a customer purchasing my second home.
Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
My standard demographic is the Veteran consumer. I specialize in VA loans. Most common question is: “I can really buy a home with no money down?”
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
I ask a lot of questions. What is their budget, what is their 1000 meter target? How long do they plan on owning their home?
What awards have you won?
I was selected as one of the top 100 mortgage lenders in the state of Hawaii for 2015-2016.
What are the pros and cons of a fixed rate mortgage versus an adjustable rate mortgage (ARM)?
Pros for a fixed mortgage is exactly what it is: a permanent payment that is customized to your budgetary needs without fluctuation. This is a great idea if this is your forever home. Not necessarily the best fit if you plan on keeping the home less than what the market dictates. As far as the ARM products, these are great for Investors, or for owners that want to capitalize on taking advantage of a lower rate which will allow them to apply more of their budget towards the principal balance of the loan. This will also, if done right, provide more leverage when renting the property.
What advice would you give new or first time home buyers?
Do your research! Shop and compare. Actually enjoy who you’re working with. This will be the most expensive item you ever purchase until you do it again!
What part of the home loan process do customers find most difficult and how do you help them through it?
Most customers find the disclosure process to be the most difficult. That’s what I’m here for. I want to educate you on every aspect of your loan. We don’t want anyone just signin
