We are pleased to introduce Russell, this week's Hero!
Where do we start with Russell? Going on 11 years with Guardian Angels, it's hard to remember a time without him! Looking back to 2009, Russell said he was looking for a job where he could use his true gift - creating meaningful interactions with his residents. Russell says he loves what he does, and it shows.
While Russell's dedication to our family at GAH grew over the last 11 years, so has his family! Russell and his wife are busy with 5 children, ages 12, 9, 5, 3, and just welcomed their newest baby 1 month ago.
A true family man, Russell says when he isn't playing video games with the kids, he loves to play his guitar and take his wife on dates.
Russell, we are so grateful you share your gift with our community at Guardian Angel Homes. Your kind, gentle heart is a blessing to not only the entire team here, but also to your residents. Thank you for being the leader you are! This week, we celebrate you!
Say hello to our newest Weekly Hero, Sheri!
Sheri has blessed our team for the last 9 years! When asked why she's stayed with us, she says, "I really love my residents and family members, I just can't see leaving here!"
Sheri says when she isn't working, she likes to "hang out with my family on the dairy farm" and "spend time with her other children in California and Arizona." When asked what "family" means to her, she says she thinks of her "3 children, 9 grandchildren, my job, my extended family, and I love my coworkers and residents like family". Sheri also shared her love for her job as a caregiver and says "This job has shown me, and given me, more patience, love, and humbleness".
Sheri, you are a true example of a selfless person and we are honored to have you as a part of our family at Guardian Angel Homes. Thank you for brightening our days with your smile and big laugh, and for being who you are. We are better because of you!
Weekly Hero:
This week we would like to introduce Maria Fraire. Maria is a member of our amazing dietary team.
Maria works cheerfully creating delicious meals and baked goods for our residents and staff alike. Always smiling and laughing, Maria brightens our kitchen with infectious laughter.
Maria just celebrated her 5th work anniversary with Guardian Angel Homes. Maria came to us when "I needed a new job and a new challenge." She says she stayed "because I love what I do." We think there may be a little bit more to it, Maria added, "I love what I do AND the residents, I just couldn't leave them."
We talked with Maria about "family" and this is what she had to say, "Family is my kids and my mom, and my other family I make everyday at Guardian Angel Homes. "
Maria describes her favorite things about life as "working and enjoying her work and family as much as she can." she also "loves to laugh with everyone."
To Maria: We love your laugh and your delicious creations, thank you for brightening the days of both our staff and our residents by always making us smile!
