H. A. Hartman & Son is the oldest storage facility in the greater Harrisburg area. Our storage warehouse was built in 1901 by Highspire Whiskey to store 13,500 whiskey barrels. When prohibition went into effect in 1920; Highspire Whiskey placed their first ad in the Harrisburg Telegraph for public storage. Self storage became so popular, they installed an Otis elevator in 1924 for automobile storage, that we still use today. In 1942 the Hartman's purchased the storage warehouse and the rest is history! Our units are large, indoor, lighted and boast wooden floors so as not to ruin your boxes like the concrete floors commonly used by other storage facilities. Our historic storage facility boasts a full sized loading dock, and a 15 ft. roll up door to allow moving trucks to back inside during inclement weather. We offer our storage units at the lowest price per square foot of any local facility and are even an authorized U-Haul dealership. Storage has never been better or more affordable!
