This is our second time visiting Hall Family Dentistry for a cleaning. The staff and Dr Hall are wonderful. I never felt rushed. The hygienist was very through and gentle and did a great job cleaning my teeth. Dr. Hall also has a gentle touch and is very professional and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Dr Hall and his staff.

Very warm, welcoming and friendly. All the members of the staff listened to my concerns and about my past experiences, from the time I called to make an appointment to when I got there and ready to have my teeth cleaned and about what to do next, and took the time to talk to me about how we would start getting my teeth healthy again. A blessing to of found this place because they were able to get my kids in too without having to wait for weeks to be seen. I highly recommend them.

WE OFTEN REMIND our patients of the importance of brushing for two full minutes twice a day. We stand by that, because doing so, along with daily flossing, is the best way of combating the constant encroachment of plaque. However, technique is important, and so is the toothbrush.
We shouldn’t be brushing so hard that the bristles quickly become bent outward or using toothbrushes with stiff bristles. Why? Because overbrushing can damage enamel and even wear away gum tissue over time. That’s right, gum recession is a real risk of brushing too hard. 😬
Our teeth and gums are not built to stand up to frequent, harsh scouring. We encourage our patients to aim for a Goldilocks approach in their brushing: do still brush two minutes twice a day, ✌️ but use a soft-bristled toothbrush and don’t use a ton of pressure. It also helps to hold the toothbrush like a pencil ✏️ and to use gentle circle motions instead of sawing back and forth. #oralhealth #toothbrushtips #brushyourteeth

WHEN WE SKIP FLOSSING, we’re leaving 35% of our tooth surfaces untouched. No matter how good we are at brushing, a toothbrush simply can’t reach the spots between teeth or beneath the gumline, so any plaque or food debris stuck there will remain. 🌽🍎
It isn’t as simple as snapping the floss in between our teeth and pulling it back out, though. We need good technique if we want flossing to keep our breath fresh, protect our teeth from decay, and especially protect our gums from gum disease the way it should.
Curve the floss around the tooth in a C-shape, then move it up and down ↕️ to scrape away plaque, including under the gumline. Do this in both directions for each tooth. Flossing shouldn’t hurt, so be thorough but gentle.
For anyone who has struggled to make flossing a daily habit, there are great tools that make it easier, like floss picks and water flossers. We’re happy to offer recommendations to anyone who isn’t sure where to start! 👍 #oralhealth #flossing #flossdaily
