Yesterday we said goodbye to the most beloved member of team Halo, Vicky! She gave us 8 years of pure joy and infinite life. She fought fearlessly for a 3 week long battle against an abdominal tumor. She waited for everyone to come home and then passed quickly and with ease, naturally.
She was a highly valued volunteer, dedicated, selfless, most loving & joyful employee of Halo! She was priceless! The simple truth is she always spread joy & unconditional love to whoever stepped into Halo or belonged to the Halo family. While Maya gave out smiley face stickers, Vicky gave kisses to the Halo family & community of patients & industry partners!
From patients to housekeepers, employees, and owners, she loved them all and erased everyone’s sorrows with her ever playful attitude and wagging tail. She didn’t ask for much except for an occasional walk, treat, and to be petted! If she smelled your dog on you or sensed you were an animal lover, you’d get a double shot of love in your Cappuccino!! Her favorite thing to do was come to work (Halo) after dropping Maya, our 7-year-old to school where everyone knew her by name! At lunchtime, she would claim her doggy treat at 2 pm when everyone was done with their lunches.
Vicky, you will be missed by all. We admire your infinite capacity to love. We honor you for your courage and the life you lived with a purpose, you were always on a mission to protect the girls and chase squirrels away, to fill everyone with love and joy, AND be a guiding light & catalyst in our transformation.
