Halsey Counseling and Educational Center derives its name from one of America's founding fathers who exemplified strength, courage, and vision. Thomas Halsey, born in 1592, was one of the first twelve families to settle in the town of Southhampton, Long Island, in 1640. William Halsey, Thomas' grandson, born in 1760, stood alongside General George Washington as one of his bodyguards in the American Revolutionary War, helping to develop the vision for our country. Gloria Hash Marcus, founder of Halsey Counseling and Educational Center, is the great, great, great, great granddaughter of William Halsey and brings these same principles of strength, courage, and vision to this practice and its clients.
