“The courage to change the things I can.” This line from the Serenity Prayer is a valuable reminder that change is possible. Whether it's moving past addiction, changing jobs, changing how we react in relationships, or changing how we care for ourselves, it may take great courage to change. We cannot change everything, but we can pray for the courage to change that which is in our power. Recognize that which is in your power and take action to change where needed.

In recovery, we love each other enough to speak the truth. It’s important that we care more for others’ lives than for just feelings. Truth with love is showing that we care. We’re grateful for the people who speak truth to us, even when it doesn’t feel good because they desire to offer a solution to our problem. It’s been said that truth with love is kindness, but truth without love is cruelty. Let’s seek to show truth with love. originsrecovery.com/daily-inspirations

Inspiration for the Day God’s time is always right now — this very moment. This is where we want to live. The truth is that we can only live where our feet are planted. But are our minds present with God? Are we living in God’s time or somewhere in the past and future? Peace and happiness are always found when we can live one day at a time. This is how we can ensure we will be sober for the rest of our lives. Meditation for the Day Today, I will live in the present moment while thinking of the Serenity Prayer. I will accept the things I cannot change. I’ll ask for the courage to change the things I can and for the wisdom when I’m not sure of the difference. I’ll remind myself that I’m living one day at a time and can only enjoy one moment at a time. I’ll pray for acceptance through hardships as a pathway to growth and peace. Honesty with ourselves is one thing, but if we are not honest with our fellows through our actions, how free are we really? The ego will tell us that things are just fine, while others see us differently and are getting ready for our downfall. When we let our ego get hurt and we learn from our mistakes, we start to grow in ways that let us be checked and not retaliate. Meditation for the Day God, please remove from me all the ways I think I should be. Let me be open to failure and success rather than let it control my actions. Remind me that I will make mistakes and that I will need you every day -- even when I’m not in need. Get your daily dose of Inspirations at https://www.originsrecovery.com/daily-inspirations/

It seems that one of the most difficult lessons for us to learn is that knowledge is not the same as wisdom. Even sincere spiritual seekers resist this truth. Becoming full of all the information in the world does not, in itself, accumulate into wisdom. God, give me the freedom to be present, to take action on my knowledge, and to turn it into wisdom. Keep me humble, Great Spirit. For more inspirations and meditations visit https://www.originsrecovery.com/daily-inspirations/
