Fall Session Swim Lessons are open for enrollment! At Harbor Swim School, we believe in life long learning. All swimmers can continue to learn and improve regardless of age and ability and life lessons can be learned through swimming. Our curriculum focuses both on helping swimmers learn to be comfortable and efficient in the water and on how to be brave, focused and accountable. We know you are worried about it. 😷 This morning at Boot Camp with Brittany an unexpected very windy morning moved classes inside (we draw the line when wind blows coffee over at 5:30 am ☕️). What did members say? "That wasn't so bad inside!", "I can do this!". Awesome job this morning everyone and thank you for being flexible. We love that kind of response and encourage you to give it a shot inside with your mask. We have A LOT of space for you to spread out and socially distance (much more than the 6 ft. recommendation). Weather is starting to change and we hope that you will keep your health and fitness a priority! You are ONE of ONE! 💪

"I attended Jennifer's Oct 19th 2020 8:00 a.m. Spin class... We were on the sport court... We were all masked... We were all more than 6 feet apart... It was the first time I have been back to the gym since mid-march.... With the time change and months of Covid, I felt this was something I had to do for my mental health. I was nervous, I walked into the gym and declared 'I have not been here, what's the scoop?' The staff was amazing! I felt very safe! WOW did I need it! As 2020 is drawing to a close, it's hard not to reflect on where this year has taken us. Continual change, pivoting and evolution were the constants. Through that all, our loyal members have stuck with us. We have gotten so many notes of appreciation over the last few days with testimonials from our members. It's wonderful to read the impact Harbor has had on so many this year. We thought we would share a few of those with you over the next few days. We’re back with another quick workout to add to your Wednesday! Join Brittany on this quick 12-minute full body strength workout! Workout is listed below ⬇️ Set one: - jumping jacks - squat with a bicep curl - sit up with a twist Set two: - up and overs - lunge with overhead press - weighted bridge Each move is 1 minute of work then 15 seconds of rest. Complete set one 2x through, take a quick drink break, and then complete set two 2x through. Enjoy your workout! You'd have to be living under a rock or living in Arizona to now know that winter is here in FULL FORCE in Wisconsin. Anyone had to shovel snow or walk on the ice lately? Check out how Functional Fitness can help you rock these winter worries. - Shoveling Snow- The key to not injuring yourself while shoveling is to lift with your legs and not with your back. Squats are a great place to start. Stand with your feet planted slightly wider than hip width a part, bend at the knees and keep your chest lifted. - Walking on Ice- Balance training is key when it comes to safety on the ice. Build your balance by standing firmly on both feet and slowly lifting one leg off the ground. Experiment with holding the balance for different lengths of time. #functionalfitness #trainforlife #wisconsinwinter

Functional Training takes movement patterns from your every day life and incorporates them in to your workout so that you can move better, feel better and thrive. Our life takes us in many different directions simultaneously- from lifting children and grandchildren, to shoveling snow and carrying groceries. We believe that we need to train for that! For beginners - keep knees bent on all exercises. Intermediate/advanced - repeat for a 12 minute total ab workout once you’ve tried this a few times! Don’t forget to do exercises for other core muscles this week - including your hips/glutes, low back, and shoulder girdle.

Today we are celebrating this fun loving skeleton🥳 Happy Birthday, Brittany!!! We are also excited to announce Brittany’s new position as our YOUTH PROGRAM ASSISTANT! Brittany has been with Harbor for 5 years already and got her start working in Kids Club & teaching FIT4MOM classes. She now works in the Youth Enrichment program, at the desk and teaches Harbor group ex classes like CardioCore and on MOD. We are thrilled to have her on our full time team now! Brittany will be assisting our youth programs, bringing fun & creative ways to keep our Harbor kiddos active and engaged! Happy Birthday Britt!
