About

Harbour Women's Health consists of a group of OB/Gyn practitioners located on the seacoast. In addition to practicing medicine, we support local programs that lead to overall improved caring for women. We have sought after measures that would best complement overall services. We provide convenient in-office diagnostic tests such as ultrasound and bone density. We offer many outpatient procedures (such as colposcopy, LEEP, and biopsy) in our office, to offer convenience and lower patient costs. Our providers are dedicated to helping patients through respect for the individual and continue to seek out better options and improved services. We feel it is important to offer conventional medical care and incorporate other modalities where appropriate while maintaining a friendly staff and patient-centered office.

On October 15th, take the opportunity to reflect, honor and come together as a community for parents, friends, and families who have suffered a pregnancy loss and/or infant death. Today we want to share Chrissy Teigan’s latest post. We as a community grieve with her and all those who have suffered similar losses💔. We are in awe of her bravery to share her intimate grief. Chrissy is not alone, in fact 1 in 4 pregnancies end in a loss of a baby. As a public figure she truly has the ability to allow voices to be seen and heard, we thank her for her commitment to driving awareness💙. We hope the outpouring love their family receives will aid in the grieving process. ❤️ It's National Red Day ❤️ Today has been established to honor American Heart Month. American Heart Month is a federally designated event that is established to encourage Americans and their families to think about their heart health. Heart disease has no boundaries. Heart disease is the #1 killer of women. In fact heart disease has taken the lives of more women than all forms of cancer combined. Take time this month to ensure you are living a healthy lifestyle, check in with your numbers (how's your blood pressure and cholesterol), understand the risk (1 in 3 women pass from heart disease), challenge yourself and your family to reassess their food choices (FDA has great resources on evaluating food through a red, yellow, green rating system), talk to your kids and share with them why this month is imporant, and lastly share social content to collectively raise awareness ❤️
Tubal ligation is the medical term for the common term "tubes tied". The procedure entails cutting the fallopian tubes (tubes that connect your ovaries to your uterus- think of them as the passageway for your eggs), then tieing them to permantely prevent a future pregnancy. The benefits of this procedure is that it is a permanent birth control and it works (1 in 200 women get pregnant after, less than 1%). The procedure does not affect your hormones. With all surgeries there is always a level of risk, although rare there is risk of infection, bowel damage, and risk to bleeding. Again this is a permanent procedure.
Happy National Women Physicians Day! . February 3rd is such a special day as it honors female physicians that have paved the way since 1849. Today we recognize and celebrate Women Physicians, and a huge congratulations goes to our incredible team of physicians. We celebrate female physicians on February 3rd as it is the birthdate of Dr. Elizabeth Blackwell. Elizabeth Blackwell, was the first female to receive a medical degree in the United States. She took a leadership role and initiated a movement to aid in the entry of women into the field of medicine. . Our team continues to advocate for women in medicine. As a 100% women owned practice we aim to strike a balance in work-life-integration to allow women to succeed professionally while supporting a family. . Lets celebrate as a community the accomplishments of female physicians, and those women who are currently in pursuit of a medical degree.
There is a sac surrounding your little one filled with amniotic fluid. This fluid keeps your baby safe in your belly.
