From a young age, Dr. Hari Gourabathini was inspired by his father, who was also a physician. His father was honored and respected in the community for his work saving lives, and his young son decided he wanted to impact lives in the same way. In particular, he wanted to work with children in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). “When you treat a child, you don’t just make them happy,” he said. “You make their whole family happy. ” Dr. Gourabathini strives to treat every child as if they were his own, and he wants patients and their families to leave knowing that he was caring, honest and trustworthy. “It’s especially gratifying when someone comes back to the ICU after you save them,” Dr. Gourabathini said. “It’s inspiring to save them, and see how your hard work has paid off. That makes a huge difference.” He’s especially thankful for the team he will be working with, who he’s said are skillful and capable people, the best colleagues he could ask for starting a new job.
Outside of work, he enjoys playing tennis, swimming, and spending time with his own children.
