Day 14 Recent Finish - This is my latest quilt. This was a covid quilt. I found the blocks while cleaning my sewing studio during lockdown. Sewed together the top. Day 28 Texture - Texture doesn't have to be "in your face!" Adding a little of texture creates interest and flow throughout your quilt. In this wallhanging, the couching and decorative stitches were done on one large piece of fabric which I "wrinkled" ahead of time, and then added the details to it. Then I cut the larger block into 3 separate rectangles to add to the wallhanging. By using one piece and cutting it into sections, the couching travels across the quilt.
Also think outside the box. The pintucks are from heirloom techniques. The pleated fabric is using a ruffler. The small decorative stitch section was using a machine smocking technique. With texture, there are no rules! #igquiltfest #igquiltfestday28

Day 26 Binding Technique - One of my favorite binding techniques is a simple wrap around binding, where you take the backing and wrap it around to the front to create the binding. One of the reasons that I love this so much is you can create a binding of any size with minimum bulk.
