This guy doesn’t have any school aged children but knows there are about 35 kids in his neighborhood that are at home learning virtually. He thought they could all use their own desks. He made one for each kid.

Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. signs a proclamation designating October 2020 as Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
More than 55 percent of Native women will suffer from domestic violence in their lifetime according to data from the National Congress of American Indians.
In an effort to protect Cherokee families from domestic violence, the Cherokee Nation created the ONE FIRE Victim Service Unit as a place for domestic violence survivors to find critical assistance including health care, housing, legal aid, career placement and education. Our ONE FIRE department, the Cherokee Marshal Service and the Attorney General’s Office are coordinated and trained to protect Cherokee families and deliver essential services for survivors.
We encourage all Cherokee Nation employees to wear purple on Thursdays to raise awareness for domestic violence.
