COVID-19 May Damage Hearing Cells Even in Patients Without Symptoms
Communication tips for mask use!
We have a very stringent infection control protocol for seeing our patients in place including the use of social distancing and extra time between patients to sanitize and disinfect. We have N95 masks and gloves used by all staff, powerful disinfectant cleaners, hand sanitizer provided to all patients before they leave the office, as well as special disinfectant wipes for your hearing instruments! A hospital grade Hepa air cleaner is also on the way!
ATTENTION ALL RIC USERS: If you wear the hearing instruments that go behind your ears please put them in BEFORE you put your mask on...this way the mask “holds” the wire in place near your head! If you put the hearing aids on AFTER putting on your mask you could lose them by taking off or adjusting the mask when the elastic slips off of your ears! Please be extra cautious and see if your hearing instruments have replacement warranty! If not please consider buying a loss policy for a couple hundred dollars. Vaccinated staff! This dramatically adds to our stringent protocols for infection control!
We are essential and we will see patients by strict appointment only! Only 1 person may accompany the patient. Masks must be worn at all times even during testing. You must be no earlier or later than 5 minutes for your appointment. If you are too early we ask you to remain in your car and call to notify us you are here. If the office has been sanitized we will invite you up early. If you are more than 5 minutes late you must call and if there is adequate time we will see you and if not you will be rescheduled.
