📝 About 25 hours per week
🗓Starts 9/14/20, ends 6/4/21
📚Provide tutoring and programming to students K-5th
💻 It is half virtual, half in person
💸 Members receive $5,400 for the entire term, paid in bi-monthly installments
👩🎓 After completing your term, you receive a $2,360 education award which can be used towards future tuition or student loans

Head, Heart, & Hands Program
With a new year and fresh start to the year, here's a little reminder of the Head Heart Hands (H3) program that you support:
Head - Homework help and STEAM activities (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math)
Heart - Social emotional learning (SEL) activities to develop lifelong characteristics, such as resilience, self awareness, persistence, and curiosity.
Hands - Project-based and experiential learning opportunities, such as Lemonade Day from Fall 2020.

Happy Valentine's Day from Heart House
We hope you are staying safe and warm! While we are currently not in session due to the inclement weather, we want to warm your heart by introducing the children that we work so hard for!
Jacob is a 4th grader and Park Lane student who loves recess at Heart House. He is always eager to play with his Heart House friends and draw. Recently, he excelled at writing a story inspired by a picture of a cloud. He was so proud of his story about heaven that he even read it to his class!

This week, all of our sites celebrated spring with Field Day! The best part about Heart House Field Day is that every activity includes an aspect of STEAM! We always try to have fun while learning!
Over the course of our program week, the students made tie dye masks, giant bubble blowers, flower pots with theirs own seeds, plates for balloon tennis, and colorful rocks! They also competed in an egg obstacle course around the entire playground and played a hula hoop lasso game where they use a hula hoop to get as many balls as they could in the center!
While there is no program next week, we will still be here to share all about Heart House! We wish you all a happy Spring Break!

Dania is an 8th grade and Pineland student who has attended Heart House for over a year now. She is sad that she only has three months left (until she goes off to high school) because she will miss activities and art with her friends that she has made at Heart House. Eventually though, she will become a veterinarian, and we cannot wait to see her achieve her goals!
This collage is her art activity for last week’s group art therapy session. Pineland students were asked to describe and draw how they felt about their day. Even though Dania was tired from doing homework, she was so grateful for the beautiful sky and weather.

Many Heart House families still do not have water after their pipes burst in their apartment homes following Winter Storm Uri. The Heart of Texas
For this week’s #wearehearthousewednesday, we are introducing Moses!
Moses is a 2nd grader and Park Lane student who loves the fun and games at Heart House. His favorite activity is the egg obstacle course at Field Day! After dropping the egg a few times, he was so excited when he finished the course that he did it time and time again!
While it is Spring Break, Moses is relaxing at home, but he loves school, especially when he gets to wear his basketball pajamas! He could not wait to share about his 100s he gets in math and science.

Christina is a 4th grader and Park Lane student who absolutely loves the people at Heart House. In fact, her favorite thing about Heart House is the teachers! While she also loves the activities at Heart House, her favorite thing to do outside of the program is to watch anime.
During Spring Break, Christina went on a Love and Lead session with Heart House to the Dallas Arboretum! She strengthened her bonds with her teachers and classmates while celebrating the spring bloom.
