With several weeks of hurricanes and tropical storms (and dare we even mention ❄) natural disasters can strike at any time. While Nova would be happy with a couple of tennis balls, our latest blog post lays out what to consider including in an emergency kit for your pet. Check out the link below for more details.

September is National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month and last week (September 6-12) marked National Suicide Prevention Week. Those who follow social media saw many reminders of this important mental health crisis from other practices and organized veterinary medicine. Heart + Paw has patiently waited to add to the posts as we know the severity of this crisis is especially alarming in our profession and requires constant awareness year-round.

Today we honor the memory of the animals who lost their owners tragically on September 11, 2001 as well as the animal heroes who searched for survivors throughout the debris. All are forever in our hearts.
Heart + Paw is celebrating its 2nd anniversary as a company today! In this short time, we have built 6 locations in the greater Philadelphia area and southern NJ, partnered with 3 veterinary hospitals in PA, NY, and CT, hired amazing talent for our teams, and had a global pandemic teach us we are resilient and able to learn and evolve through even the toughest of challenges. We are excited to see where this next year takes us as we move into new states and continue our work to reimagine petcare together.

Finding Shelter has been a part of our community for over 10 years. We have worked with them for over a year and they are truly dedicated to the care of their pets. Almost every charity has been limited to what fundraising events they could hold this year, and this has created a new level of stress for them. If you are looking to donate and support a great cause, we have attached a link to their portal that allows anyone to donate.
• Finding Shelter Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3), non-profit, no-kill, volunteer supported animal rescue organization dedicated to the saving, rehabilitation, training and permanent placement of dogs and cats in need.
• They treat each adoption individually, with the understanding that placing a dog into a new home is not like buying a new piece of furniture, they are a new member of your family. They truly take the time to find the right family that fits the needs of each animal.
