如何抓住大片幅底片的尾巴??
我開始接觸攝影的時候, 數位相機還沒有普及, 在那個底片還很便宜的美好年代, 拍攝底片完全不是什麼太了不起的事, 那個年代拍照, 相館幫你掃個幾K大小的檔案就已經心滿意足, 但隨著數位相機的進步, 慢慢我們看照片的方式已經不是幾K或是幾MB就可以被滿足了, 我們會放到100%看細節, 再加上Lightroom和photoshop的便利性取代的傳統暗房, 那底片的優勢到底在哪? 對我來說: 除了情感之外, 剩下的就是更大的片幅吧!
從2006年開始拍120到現在已經14年了, 一直以來, 所謂的大片幅4x5對我來說就像是一種神話或是傳奇, 我也一直不得其門而入, 幸運的是, 我有個同學在大學的時候就學過4x5, 他也願意借他的4x5讓我探索這全然未知的世界, 當我把4x5送進去Flextight X1掃出來之後, 新世界的大門就被我打開了! 我很難講完4x5的好處有哪些, 如人飲水冷暖自知, 當我拍攝一些對我來說很重要的時刻, 我可能會放棄用數位相機, 但我絕對不會放棄用4x5拍攝, 即使很麻煩, 因為一切都值得.
因為我們現在已經習慣在電腦上看照片, 所以如何將底片數位化就會變得很重要, 當然底片數位化的最佳解就是滾筒掃瞄, 但是每一張都送滾筒有點不切實際, 退而求其次的話, 在以前有Flextight掃瞄器可以掃瞄4x5或120, 但是在去年五月, Hasselblad將所有scanner停產, 而且一台要價兩萬美金對一般人而言也是難以負擔, 我的指導老師說他目前拍8x10最佳解就是用EPSON地平台掃瞄器掃瞄, 然後覺得這張底片可以稱為作品實再送滾筒掃瞄, 而Perfection V850 Pro就是如果你要進入4x5或8x10所必備的掃瞄器.
雖然台灣EPSON沒有提到Perfection V850 Pro裡面就有附SilverFast專業掃瞄軟體, 還有il scanner專業校色軟體. 但兩套都是掃瞄底片不可缺少的重要工具. 當然也可以用EPSON原廠掃瞄軟體掃瞄, 因為我開箱的時候沒注意到裡面有附silverfast, 所以就先用epson原廠軟體掃瞄, 結果也還能接受, 但依照我過去用silverfast的經驗, silverfast還是更強更方便!
國外PetaPixel網站其實有篇文章拿Flextight X1與EPSON V700 (舊款scanner) 做比較, 雖然大家可以看到V700雖然小輸Flextight X1, 但隨著Flextight全系列走入歷史, EPSON V700也已進化到V850 pro, 可以說EPSON V850 pro已經是拍攝4x5或8x10的唯一解!
