Fall is for Fertilizing!
Late September thru Mid-October is generally the best time to apply fertilizer, 4-6 weeks before the ground freezes. Fall fertilization helps lawn recover from heat-induced dormancy from the summer, as well as promotes enhanced rooting, cold hardiness, and disease resistance. Spring blooming shrubs appreciate food in the fall too!
