Heidi's in Gresham opened 40 years ago in 1980. About 25 years ago a beautiful lady was hired as a server. I worked side by side Kendra 4 to 5 times a week 6-8 hours a day for 25 years. I cant begin to express the sadness I feel with the loss of such an amazing person. For the thousands of employees and customers that had the honor to know her, this message is for you.
Kendra Jane Gibbons passed away Friday morning. Kendra was my friend, she was everyone's friend. She was the most gracious person I’ve ever known. Her customers and co workers were family to her. She was friendly to all, Kendra knew everyone by name, she celebrated their birthdays. Kendra knew about their doctors appointment, their good days and their bad days. Customers would wait in the lobby just to be seated with her. Kendra was loved by anyone that met her.
Kendra was so funny, direct and sometimes naughty! She was such a joy to be around! Kendra brought tremendous happiness and comfort to those that she served. Kendra and I prayed over the last 25 years for each others children, we celebrated the excitement of grand children! We have so many good memories over the years. The Heidis family was only a small part of Kendras Life.
Kendra has a family that she loved and protected fiercely. She raised the greatest of kids that any parent would be proud to claim and she was proud of them all. They love her and they treated her like a Queen. They learned from Kendras example how to raise strong families that love and respect one another. Because of her example her family knows how to take care of each other. Kendra and Jim have been married over 50 years! Everyone knows Jim is her best friend. She glows when she talks about Jim
Our prayers will continue for the Gibbons family. There is a new angel in Heaven and they better watch out!
