Elijah McCoy born a slave escaped and eventually invented a lubricating cup for the gears of steam engines. This significantly increased productivity of locomotives powered by these engines. The continuous lubrication eliminated the need to power down the engine. This ladies and gentleman is literally "The Real McCoy". Let us recognize his contribution to American history.
