Farid, Majida, and their parents, have all suffered from extremist threats in Syria for many years. During this time, their father was killed because they could not pay a ransom for him. They grieve his loss and are suffering emotionally from all the trauma they have endured.
Please pray for Farid, Majida and their mom, that the peace of Christ will truly fill them and comfort them during this time. Pray that their faith would encourage them to have hope for their future.
Earlier this month, we told you about Haytham. From a young age, he experienced suffering and tragedy, which he ended up blaming on God. But when he eventually accepted Jesus as his Savior, his life was redeemed, and his situation improved infinitely.

Once the largest Christian town in Iraq, Qaraqosh was targeted for destruction by ISIS. The town’s population of more than 50,000 was decimated as Christians were brutally murdered. Others ran for their lives with nothing but the clothes on their backs.
But God is working through us in mighty ways to rebuild His Church! Here’s what one Restored believer in the area had to say:
“Your hand was with us since our displacement...providing support, assistance, and relief. Now you are continuing to support the residents of the region. Your Ministry Center came at just the right time to help us; thank you for being here with us in Iraq.”

Mariam’s parents died when she was very young and she grew up in an orphanage. When she was 15, she moved in with her brother and his wife—he began beating her and controlling every move she made. He forced her to get married at the age of 17, and four days after the wedding, her husband also began beating her daily.
Mariam eventually gave birth to two children. Her husband’s violent behavior led to speech impediments for her son, and a psychiatrist advised Mariam to escape.
She found a Christian charity for abused women and there she heard about and accepted Jesus as her Savior! Mariam is grateful, but still living in fear. Her brother is searching for her and will kill her if he finds out she is now a Christian.
Help The Persecuted has now come alongside Mariam as she cannot work and needs help with her living expenses and encouragement in her faith.

Nazir, from Egypt, is a persecuted believer who went to prison after his wife discovered his faith in Christ. When he got out two years ago, he went to serve in Lebanon but returned recently as he is called to serve in his home country. He is still persecuted and followed by his ex-wife and her family.
Pray for Nazir, that the Lord will bless him for submitting to his calling. Pray for his protection as he works to minister in Egypt. Pray that his ex-wife and her family will be blind to his movements.
Gabir grew up in an evangelical family. His father was a church elder, but Gabir did not care about faith or the church.
When his village was attacked, his wife and children were terrified. His family escaped to a new city and rented a small house. While in the new town, radicals stole his car, which he was using as an extra source of income.
Without a car and living in a new city, Gabir’s friend advised him to go to church, which he did—as a last resort. The members of the church connected him to Help The Persecuted and we were able to provide the support he needed. He felt peaceful and secure and put his faith in God, sharing:
“Ask and you shall receive! I asked…and He answered! Through you, He answered, and I received! Thank you for changing our lives.”

Nylah, from Egypt, is a persecuted believer who declared her faith in Christ after seeing Him in a dream. Her father is pressuring her to return to Islam and has had her questioned by the National Security in Egypt multiple times.
Pray for Nylah, that she will stand strong in her faith. Pray for her father, that he will come to know the saving Truth of the Gospel.
Imagine a life distinctly different from the one you live now. A life filled with bomb blasts...violence...chaos...fear.
A life where at a moment’s notice you might have to flee from your home—literally run for your life, with nothing but the clothes on your back—or die.
That is how Sevan lived.
She lost her husband suddenly and violently in a mortar fire attack in their hometown of Aleppo.
Heartbroken, she reached out to the local Christian church and found Help The Persecuted. She received comfort, help, and hope—and eventually came to know Jesus as Lord and Savior.
Continued persecution by her own family cannot deter Sevan from her newfound faith. She feels safe and loved for the first time since her husband’s untimely death.
Sevan is not forgotten—because YOU remember the persecuted.

We continue to hear from those who have been impacted by Help The Persecuted following the explosion in Beirut:
“You ran to help me as if you were my own mother! I can never forget what you (Help The Persecuted) did for us. We lost our dad because of the explosion but gained a family through you. Thank you!”
Please join us in prayer for those who are rebuilding in Lebanon—that the Lord will grant them strength and perseverance, and this tragedy will draw the lost closer to Him.
Salam, our Field Ministry Team leader, shares with us his prayer for the persecuted, specifically persecuted women, today:
“Many converts are being physically beaten for their faith. This torture has severe effects—especially on women. We ask that you please pray for their safety, healing, and strength.”
Thank you for standing with the persecuted in prayer.
Syria has been devastated by years of ongoing civil war.
The Christian population has dwindled there as believers were often the first to be targeted in attacks.
Help The Persecuted is there, on the ground, serving persecuted believers left behind. Our ministry provides critical food supplies, medicine, and discipleship. Our team has been rebuilding homes and providing finances for utilities and new appliances. But we are just getting started.

Hashim, from Egypt, comes from a well-known political family which puts a huge pressure on him as a believer in Christ. He has been moving a lot to avoid any encounters with his family. Hashim also suffers from a heart condition that requires medication.
Pray for Hashim, for wisdom as he moves about and for protection from his powerful family. Pray for his health and that his relationship with Christ will flourish.
Over the past nine years, Syria’s civil war has been in and out of the global news. Hundreds of thousands have died, and millions have fled the country during this ongoing conflict. Even greater, the emotional toll of this war is difficult to gauge or comprehend.
The stories of those living through the Syrian civil war provide a more personal perspective on this difficult situation. Sevan’s story is one such example of loss, courage, and hope.

“The only ones who helped were you ‘Christians’! Your God is truly alive.”
Kalilah, a Muslim woman, expressed her thanks to our Field Ministry Team member Amin while our team repaired her home following the explosion in Beirut.
As our team works to Rescue, Restore, and Rebuild, they also aim to be the light of Christ to every person they meet—becoming the hands and feet of Christ.

Noor met his wife, Dinah, at work. Dinah began attending a Bible study at Noor’s church.
Dinah was often attacked at home and work because of her faith, but Noor would defend her—he revealed to their coworkers he had become a Christian and wanted to marry her.
Noor and Dinah eloped—she didn’t tell her parents as they had been assaulting her, and she didn’t want them to refuse. Her parents even went so far as to accuse Noor of kidnapping her! They also offered him money to return Dinah to their home, but she was steadfast in her marriage and in her faith.
As threats from Dinah’s parents continue, Help The Persecuted has been able to secure safe housing for the couple while providing temporary living expenses until they can find work.
Steady as ever in their faith, Noor and Dinah continue attending their Bible study--grateful to God for His mercy and to Help The Persecuted for supporting them in their time of need.

“I was a beast before knowing Christ.”
This is Noor’s story.
Noor grew up as a devout Muslim—but he struggled, wondering why good and tolerant Christians would not go to paradise. He began asking God to reveal the Truth to him, and he started dreaming of crosses!
When his parents learned of his doubts, they pressured him to fast and pray. Noor refused, and his parents temporarily kicked him out of their house.
Noor wouldn’t stop his search—he talked to priests, read books, and scoured the internet. During this time, he became convinced that Christianity was the right path. At this point, those around him noticed a change and began harassing him.
Tomorrow, learn how he met his wife, and together, how they came to know God’s mercy.

Ishaq was stabbed seven times by his brother last month—but thankfully, he was rescued at the last possible moment. When they went to court, Ishaq dropped all the charges against his brother. When he was asked why, he said, “I wanted to give him a glimpse of the Lord’s forgiveness and for him to taste how good our Lord is.”
Pray for Ishaq, that he will have a speedy and full recovery. Pray that his family will come to know the saving Truth of Jesus.
When we opened our Iraq Ministry Center, we learned that 34% of the residents in Qaraqosh, Iraq, had no education resources for their children. This led us to create a preschool, providing much-needed education, as well as reliable childcare giving parents an opportunity to work or gain continuing education.
The Center recently graduated its first class of kindergarten students!
Our team in Iraq has shared how grateful they are that you care about the people of their country. Help The Persecuted supporters just like you made the Iraq Ministry Center possible.

Emergency Relief Kits, which include critical food supplies and discipleship materials, provide immeasurable encouragement and hope to persecuted believers in the Middle East and North Africa. And our team is working hard to get these into the hands of as many persecuted families as possible—families like Naem’s.
Naem and her children, from Lebanon, are persecuted believers who recently were diagnosed with COVID-19. Because of the lockdown, no one was able to reach them with food or water. Last week, our team arrived with an Emergency Relief Kit and was able to pray with them.
Praise God we were able to reach them with critical supplies. Pray for Naem and her children that they will recover fully from COVID-19. Pray they will continue to grow in their faith during this time.

Our Field Ministry Team in Iraq is meeting this week with two secret believers—both want to be baptized!
Join us in praying today for these persecuted Christians:
Lord, please be with these two brave new believers. We pray for their safety as they risk it all to follow You and to learn more about the Truth of Your Gospel. We pray that they will continue to grow in their walk with You and that they will be invisible to any who wish to do them harm. Guide our team as they disciple these new believers and protect their meeting. Amen.

When Ali and his family tried to return to their home, they found that it had been burned to the ground—and they knew living in the town as converts to Christianity would be risky—so they returned to the refugee camp.
As news of their conversion spread, Ali’s brother-in-law tried to file false charges against him. That’s when our team moved Ali and his family to one of our secret Safe Houses. After years of war, refugee camps, and now living under threats—Ali’s prayer request is: “Pray for me and my family, we are tired!”
Will you join us in prayer for Ali and his family, as well as the thousands of families just like them who are in desperate need of help and encouragement?

As Ali grappled with the actions of ISIS and searched he was drawn more and more to watching Christian television. He began to feel something shift—and after a period of time, he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior!
As the Iraqi Army began battling with ISIS for control of the town where Ali, his wife, and five children lived—they fled and took shelter in a refugee camp. That’s where Ali met our Field Ministry Team member, Nabeel, who began visiting them and providing them with practical support and discipleship.
After reading through the materials our team provided, Ali’s wife Salma saw Jesus in a dream—ultimately the whole family became believers!
Tomorrow, find out what they discovered when they tried to return to their home, what happened when their relatives discovered their new faith, and how the family is doing now.

Ali was a devout Muslim until ISIS took over and terrorized his Iraqi hometown. After that, Ali began searching…reading more Islamic books and teachings—but also watching various Christian TV channels. That’s when everything changed.
Tomorrow, find out what happened next.
