Here at Hicks Animal Hospital, we like to have fun!
Every fall we have a pumpkin decorating contest to raise money for Hicks Animal Rescues and other Rescues in the Poplar Bluff area. All Rescues are made up of abandoned animals, ones that are hurt and left to Rescues to take care of, specialty surgeries, overall wellness and care of animals. All proceeds that are collected go 100% to Rescued animals.
To vote for your favorite pumpkin, stop by and add a dollar to the corresponding jar!
We also have a large pumpkin donated to us by Dunlap Farms, that you can come in and guess the weight of. The closest person, without going over, will wheel away with the pumpkin November 1st.
Introducing our adorable two pets of the week! Everyone meet Keyush and Magayuk! They are husky malamutes are could not be any cuter. Lets show these babies some love!
Kennel Tech: Full time
Kennel tech is responsible for the care of all pets in the building duties include: taking dogs out, cleaning cages, feeding and watering pets, laundry, keeping the garage clean and another duties assigned. Skills include general labor and ability to lift 50lbs and be on your feet most of the day. MUST LOVE ANIMALS ! Prefer experience but will train the right person. Must be 18 years or older. We are a full time facility 7 days a week, so schedule will vary. Please no phone calls, apply in person. Background check and drug test.

What a great job the employees at Hicks Animal Hospital did on their float for the Poplar Bluff Chamber of Commerce Lighted Christmas Parade. It was cold out side but everyone stayed warm and had fun, even our four legged parade walkers! At Hicks Animal Hospital we are all about the Christmas Spirit! Great job all!

This dog was brought to my house last night by a nice man who rescued me out of the middle of the street behind the EMS station on Pine.
Due to the weather and road conditions we have decided to close the office today at noon. We plan to reopen on Thursday, but please, call the clinic after 8:30 to confirm we are open. If you have a pet with us, rest assured that Dr. Hicks and her dedicated staff are taking great care of them during this time. Should you have an emergency, and please, for emergencies only, you can call 718-6311 and please, leave a messege. Stay safe everyone.

For everyone's safety and your cat's well being, we ask that all felines be in a carrier when brought in. If you don't have one, we are happy to provide one of our portable pet taxi's for a fee. All dogs should be on a leash also.

Looking for a verifiable Veternary Technician. Whether you have your license or have 3 years or more of Tech experience, we are a looking for a good fit with our tech staff. Duties include surgical monitoring, xrays, diagnostic testing, ability to work client appointments and over see the care of kenneled medical patients . We are a fast paced facility that deals with small, large and exotic animals. Ability to follow procedures and written and verbal direction a must. This job tends to work more than 40 hours (overtime is paid) and has rotatated weekends, did I mention it's fast paced? All techs are expected to assist in cleaning treatment and surgical areas, restocking supplies and assisting kennel techs when needed and whatever the situation demands.
