Providing individuals with deafness or hearing disabilities with trained companions is truly remarkable. Oh, we forgot to mention these pups are either shelter dogs or strays! Over 1,300 dogs have been trained and placed all thanks to the staff and volunteers at IHDI.
High 5 team members Deziree and Claire got to watch first hand some of the pup training over at and met Arty. Arty is currently working on 3 major alerts: Doorbell/Knock, Phone Notifications and Emergency alarms such as a fire alarm.

Last year we were fortunate enough to meet Crouton from International Hearing Dog Inc through our #High5Cares program. This good boy was in the middle of his training program and has since been placed with his new Handler, Jodi.
Crouton is Jodi's second Hearing Dog from their program after her first crossed over the rainbow bridge. Jodi recently became a grandmother and Crouton's training allows for him to alert her to her new grandbabies cry. How cool is that?!
Jodi states "I feel so relaxed because I know I will not miss any sounds as I know Crouton will always let me know of them" and that reassurance is part of why International Hearing Dog, Inc is around.
