We would like to give a BIG thanks to Hodge Fabrication Inc. for the time and materials they spent in the restoration of this bench that has been part of Fire Station #7 for 40+ years. The bench is believed to come from McAurthur Park.
Today, Mark is building several proprietary flanges with an eight hole pattern 1/2x13 threaded hole. The complete process is done in-house with strict attention to detail on quality and accuracy. From the burning of the blank on a high definition plasma table to the layout of the hole pattern with a DRO on a fine quality Bridgeport mill.

In 1987 Hodge Fabrication bought its first tube bender! Modest in size but large in its abilities. In its 33 years, it has rolled small projects like foot rests for fire rings, and big projects such as rings used in the Osborn Christmas light display, which were also used at Disney World. It’s been a great piece of equipment! Unfortunately, it broke last month, and parts can no longer be purchased to repair it.
After a month of waiting, the new replacement has arrived! We are excited to see what all the Ercolina bender will be involved in!

Did you know that our machine shop was once a furniture shop? Mark E Hodge grew up around some of the finest woodworkers there ever were! His grandfather’s name was Murry Kelly Hodge, he went by MK, he built furniture for over 50 years and actually patented one of the first stereo sound systems, which we still have today. Mark’s father, Murry Junior Hodge, who went by ME, also built furniture for 50 years. They would plant trees on the property to harvest wood from. One of the oldest on the property was a black walnut, which fell during a storm this past year.
We recently sent it to the saw mill and picked it up today. Some of it will be used to make a table, complete with metal base. A beautiful blend of the two skilled trades the Hodge Family is known for!

We like hump day so we put a ring on it. A 120” rebar lifting ring, that is.
This is one of two 120” lifting rings that will accompany an additional 96” and 78” rebar lifting ring.
These will be used to lift a prefabricated rebar cage that will be installed into a bored shaft and filled with concrete.
The guys enjoyed a week off for the snow, but are back to work fabricating navigation buoys that will be used on the Arkansas River. We’ve been building these for many years, they’re a fun project to work on!

Our massive Cincinnati Bickford Radial Arm Drill going to work to drill a 3” hole in a 3-1/2” thick plate.
We bought this drill used over 20 years ago and it still gets the job done! It’s an oldie, but a goodie!
When the boss says “man, if we had desk here by the iron worker we’d have a great set up” and then leaves for Daytona bike week.
