Should You Use Synthetic Oil In Your Car? Car maintenance is a must, and at the very top of the list of routine maintenance “musts” is changing the oil in your engine. If you do not maintain your car and fail to follow a consistent schedule, the oil that is designed to lubricate all of the moving metal components inside your engine will lose its effectiveness, break down, and eventually turn to sludge. Not only does oil affect your engine’s performance, but neglecting it can cause significant and expensive damage. Click Image to Learn More: bit.ly/3hreC7r #syntheticoil #oilchange

Do Oil Additives Make a Difference In Your Engine The question: will putting aftermarket oil additives in your engine make a difference? The short answer? Maybe. Truth is, that question has been a point of controversy among automotive enthusiasts and experts for years. Some suggest that aftermarket additives are not necessary; others swear by them. Maybe a better question is do you need oil additives in your engine? Click Here to Learn More: bit.ly/34UjZcs #oiladditives #oilchange
A Step-by-Step Guide to Parallel Parking Perhaps no part of a driver’s license road test brings more butterflies to the stomach or anxiety to the soul than the act of parallel parking. Some drivers find the skill to be fairly intuitive, but others dread the maneuver. Even many experienced drivers prefer to avoid pulling in and out of a streetside spot, especially if the cars bordering that spot are a little too close for comfort, especially if they tend to misjudge the geometry and have to endure the embarrassment of multiple failed attempts. But parallel parking does not need to stress you out. If you follow a few simple strategies, you can learn to back your way into a standard space the first time every time, even on a busy street. The Pitfalls Of Leaving Your Car Idle During the Covid-19 Pandemic A friend recently asked, “Hey, do you remember when it was common to throw a car away by the time it reached a hundred thousand miles?” Back when the odometer on the dashboard only showed five digits, if your car was getting anywhere close to the 99,999 limit before starting over again at zero, it was probably time to find a new vehicle. That is not true with a modern car, truck, or SUV. Many of today’s automobiles are capable of lasting 200K miles or more. Click Here to Learn More: t.ly/DkJy #Covid19andYourCar #LeavingYourCarIdle
How High Miles Affect Your Vehicle They say sixty is the new forty, or some such thing. Really, there is a good deal of truth to that statement. It is not uncommon for a person in their sixties, seventies, and beyond to remain vital, to stay physically and mentally active. The average person in the US could expect to live less than seventy years just a few decades ago. Today, that life expectancy is closer to eighty, and many far surpass that number. While the body does wear out eventually, advanced years do not carry the same implications as they once did. The Truth About How Often You Should Change Your Oil Think about how often you change your oil. Do you keep a strict maintenance schedule or just change it every so often? Are you the sort to take great pains to keep your odometer from passing the number hand-written on an oil change sticker in the upper corner of your windshield? Or do you wait until you hear strange ticking noises coming from under the hood to remind you? If you ask the average quick oil change shop they will probably tell you to change your oil and filter “every three months or thirty thousand miles, whichever comes first.” Many of us grew up hearing that same maintenance mantra. Others have heard differently, that you can simply change your oil filter and extend the life of your oil. Or that you can drive for ten- or even fifteen-thousand miles between oil changes. So, who is right? How often should you change your oil? Click Here to Learn More: bit.ly/2Ti8Z1r #oilchange #3000MileMyth #howoftenttochangeoil

Fuel Economy Tips: Fact or Fiction? The average price of a gallon of gas right now is about two bucks. The price has been even lower in recent months, and it certainly has been higher in recent years. Maybe you, like many drivers, are vigilant when it comes to saving resources - gasoline and greenbacks. Or maybe you tend to ignore fuel economy until your gas gauge reads near to empty. Either way, most everyone cares about fuel efficiency at some point, sooner or later. Why Would Your Car Need a Wheel Alignment? Drivers in northern climates understand that, with the approach of Spring, so comes the emergence of a monster: the pothole. Drivers everywhere can relate to the damage caused by these beasts — some of which seem to have hit potholes as though they could devour entire vehicles. Whether it is because of damage from driving through potholes, or some other source, your car, truck, or SUV may be in need of a wheel alignment. But what is a wheel alignment? And how do you know when you need one? Click Here to Learn More: t.ly/APSZ #wheelalignment #4wheelalignment

How to Choose the Right Tires For Your Car As I researched “things to do” while preparing for a family trip to a forest campground, I found several golf courses and a nearby river where the salmon were running. So I stowed a set of clubs and some fishing gear in a borrowed motorhome. As it turned out, the fishing stream was right next to our campground, so, with no experience catching salmon, I headed down to the river bank. But I only had a pair of tennis shoes and my golf shoes. Well, golf shoes are waterproof, right? Yeah, little did I know that once I hooked a fish, I would have to wade into the water up to my waist to bring it in. So much for keeping my feet dry. That was ages ago. Since that naive trip, I have learned to take along the right shoes (or waders) for the job. Click Here to Learn More: bit.ly/2Im9CVG #tires #shopfortires

Should You Use Nitrogen To Fill Your Tires? Several years ago, new car dealerships and tire retailers began a practice that was purported to prevent air loss in tires, boost fuel efficiency, reduce rolling resistance, and improve vehicle safety. Cars, trucks, and SUVs rolled out of dealer lots and tire shops with little green valve stem caps on their wheels to signify that the tires were filled with nitrogen instead of regular old air. Those little green caps came with a cost. Anywhere from about thirty bucks per tire on the cheap side to empty out the old air and replace it with nitrogen to several hundred when included as part of an options package on a new vehicle. But is the benefit worth the price? Click Here to Find Out: bit.ly/3cjSFrW #nitrogentires #tires
How To Reduce the Risk of COVID-19 In Your Car When the coronavirus first became widely known, automotive repair shops (deemed “essential” businesses in virtually every state) scrambled to devise procedures to keep employees and customers safe. Coronavirus Protocols were put into place to safeguard common “touch points”, to limit interactions that required close proximity, and to lend confidence that everything possible was being done to prevent the spread of the virus. Every vehicle that arrived for an oil change or other service procedure left with the scent of disinfectant. Click Here to Learn More: bit.ly/3nQWVkF #coronavirus #coronavirusandyourcar
Why Does My Car Heater Blow Cold Air? When it is a humid ninety degrees and sunny, you expect your car vents to blow cold air. When temperatures are closer to freezing, you do not. Malfunctions at either end of the thermometer can present problems. An air conditioner that does not blow cold air is at least inconvenient. But it could also make for a potentially dangerous condition in the extreme heat. Likewise, if your climate control system malfunctions in the bitter cold, safety can be compromised. If your heater is blowing nothing but cold air, not only do you feel like you are driving a refrigerator, but you could also face a lack of visibility if the defroster is not working. And a heater that blows cold air could be a symptom of an engine problem. Click Here to Learn More! bit.ly/2LlTpBX #carheater #heaterblowingcoldair

What Should You Do If Your Car Gets Stuck in the Snow? Looking out my window I see that the forecast was finally correct. Snow is falling and the winter storm is here. Sure, the view might make a pretty picture for a postcard. But all that white powder does not make for a pretty drive. Fortunately, I do not have to venture out and brave the elements today. Maybe you do. Driving in the snow can be a challenge. Besides the blinding light reflecting off all of that white stuff, your windows icing over, and slippery street conditions, there are always other drivers to look for as they slip and slide around the road. It can be tough staying in your lane and stopping on time, let alone keeping your car from getting stuck in a snowbank. Click Here to Learn More: bit.ly/2KYBYXx #stuckinsnow #carstuckinsnow
