At 10:03AM, the time that United Flight 93 crashed 80 miles southeast of Pittsburgh in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, Taps sounded at the intersection of Main and Davis Streets. This was to honor all the heroic citizens who gave their lives that day in order to save hundreds more.
After a moment of silence, Taps was sounded for a fifth time, to honor the heroes that were killed on September 11, 2012, in Benghazi, Libya. Following Taps was a verse from America the Beautiful to remember all the innocent citizens who perished and for those who have since sacrificed their lives. As a final remembrance, a verse from Amazing Grace was played in memory of Ken and Jennifer Lewis, a married Culpeper couple who were flight attendants aboard American Flight 77 when it struck the Pentagon.
