JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment, fixtures, property, and structures.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Respond to all maintenance requests by guests, employees, and supervisors
Maintain, repair, and overhaul equipment and property. Report problems to General Manager
Paint walls, ceilings, fixtures, building, and equipment to prevent corrosion
Hang wall fixtures, replace light bulbs and filters, and shampoo carpets
Make local deliveries and pick-ups
Maintain parking lot, pool, and grounds area according to established quality standards
Work in accordance with General Manager to set up and complete special and on-going projects and maintains a preventative maintenance program
Conduct routine inspections of hotel and determine maintenance needs
Maintain all sidewalks and keep them clean and clear of debris and/or snow and ice
Responsible for recording and implementing of key control policies, practices, and procedures
Keep current on all information pertaining to any equipment or machinery on property
Compliance with MIOSHA standards to provide a safe work environment

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for serving guests at the front desk while providing the highest level of service possible in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
§ Perform guest registrations (check ins & check outs), room assignments, and special requests
§ Knowledge of daily hotel operations, policies, procedures, and internal rules
§ Knowledge of Brand’s operating systems and Brand’s customer loyalty programs
§ Knowledge of guest rooms, locations, amenities, features, and all other services offered
§ Knowledge of room rates, packages, discounts, and promotions
§ Ensure proper credit when checking out guest(s) and handle late charges accordingly
§ Knowledge of cash handling and bank procedures to check out all guest(s)
§ Bank out at end of shift by following drop procedures
§ Email daily reports to accounting office

➡️ Duckling Rescue! 🐥 We found some ducks in a storm drain and in partnership with a kitchen strainer, a crow bar, and eventually the City of Walker Police Department, Walker Fire Department, and Kent County Animal Control, we were able to rescue and reunite the ducklings with their mom! 🥳🦆
➡️ Serving Others! We have been thrilled to be home to a number of essential guests including members of our armed services. We were happy to cook them a nice hot breakfast (Following all guidelines for takeout service and cleaning procedures) to show our appreciation for the work they do in our community! ✨
➡️ Sharing Joy! My favorite of all, we partnered with The Mitten Brewing Co. to throw a "Patio Party" for our service members with yard games, pizza, and wings! 🍕 We were so thrilled to be able to provide a night of fun and relaxation, HUGE thank you to The Mitten for donating the delicious pizza!

We have so much to be thankful for and proud of this week! First and foremost, Congratulations to Peggy, our breakfast host! Peggy was a proud WAVE award winner! The WAVE (Way Above Visitor Expectations) award is presented to Hospitality professionals who consistently exceed the expectations of our guests. Peggy has been with our property for 17 years and has been delivering fantastic guest service at other hotels for even longer. We are so happy to have her on our team! Every day Peggy treats our guests AND employees as family. Her genuine care for human beings is obvious in everything she does. We feel incredibly privileged to have the opportunity to see and work with Peggy each day- She truly brings cheer and love to our days! Peggy takes every opportunity she can to help others.
This week, she coordinated the donation of FIFTEEN Thanksgiving turkeys to the Northwest Food Pantry for the holiday season! Our staff chose to donate their turkey bonus this year to those in need in our community. Thank you to Peggy and our entire staff for your generosity and kindness!
Last month, we made a number of fundraising efforts to benefit Safe Haven Ministries in Grand Rapids in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Our staff raised $131.56 to be donated!
