We're going to close out our week with Rosa. Rosa has worked for us for just under a year; but comes from working at a sister hotel for 14 years! Rosa started her career as a Room Attendant, and was promoted to Housekeeping Manager after being a Housekeeping Supervisor.
Rosa's favorite thing about her job is everybody she gets to work with (while she didn't specifically say, she also loves the GM's jokes and when he calls her "Rosa Bird" for no reason.) While she says the most fun thing that happens here are all the celebrations (I promise we do work here!); Rosa works hard to help put those on for her staff, as well as other team members, like Front Desk and Maintenance; which is appreciated by all. When she isn't here laughing at my jokes, she likes to relax at home, visit with her family, catch up on shows and do puzzles!
We are so lucky and blessed to have Rosa as a Housekeeping Manager, she brought with her a wealth of knowledge and experience, and has been such a wonderful part of our team. It's not easy to learn a new job, at a new brand, much less in the middle of a global pandemic, but Rosa has stepped up to the challenge and done so much for her team and guests alike. Thanks so much Rosa for all of your help and great work! You rock!

Since day one of this craziness, my daughter Samantha has been working any and every shift that she has been needed at the hotel. Truckers still need a place to stay while keeping America fed. So many people took unemployment instead of working that she's made less money while working harder than most of her contemporaries. People take out their anger over masks, politics, pools/gyms not being open, etc. on her and she continues to smile and show up every day. I am exceptionally proud of her.

Local residents are invited to nominate deserving essential workers, sharing their photo and a short summary of why they deserve to receive this recognition. Winners will be saluted each Monday on NBC 5 News Sunrise and NBC 5 News Your Place @ 7 from September 7 through November 23. These winning essential workers will also receive a $50 Visa Gift Card and a prize pack with items from US Bank and NBC 5/NBC2. Winners will be selected by a panel of judges at NBC 5/NBC 2.🇺🇸

We're told hotel guests, employees and family members of employees donated books or cash to help. Thank you Merete Hotel group 🙌 for being so generous and helping with the student's book drive!!
REMINDER: The book drive giveaway is happening on February 11th from 4-6pm at North and South Medford High Schools. All Medford students in grades K-6 are invited to come by to get a book and a valentine treat! 💘
