The Holiday Inn & Suites in Beaufort, SC is looking for a Restaurant Server with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
A Server’s primary duty is to create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for dining hotel guests and the public to meet Holiday Inn brand standards. This includes providing guests with timely and efficient service, communicating effectively with fellow team members, maintaining a clean, and orderly work station and environment, keeping neat and accurate record of all food and beverage transactions, and utilizing POS system to post sales to the proper guest’s account. Also includes maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment, completing open and closing side work as assigned, assisting in turnover from one event to another and setting up for functions and dining. He/she will take orders and serve food promptly, and be aware of guest’s needs at all times. Must utilize suggestive selling; recommend cocktails, appetizers, and desserts when appropriate. Requires familiarity with hotel and franchise standards and procedures, serving etiquette, and ability to attend to the needs and requests of customers.
Thorough knowledge of all in-house amenities along with local information to assist guests are required. When daily tasks are completed, he/she may be asked to assist with other duties. Must be fully knowledgeable of all menu items and prices, daily specials, and register system.
Servers must possess strong customer service skills, have a friendly and outgoing demeanor, the ability to accurately and efficiently input information into computer systems, and work cohesively with all hotel team members. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Servers must be in proper uniform with name tag at all times.
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, which includes weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime.
We are looking for team players who take pride in their work.
The Server position requires at least a high school diploma or GED. Serving experience required. Previous experience in the hospitality or hotel industry is recommended.

The Holiday Inn & Suites in Beaufort, SC is looking for an experienced Restaurant Line Cook with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
A Cook’s primary duty is to prepare food to the exact Chef’s specifications and to meet Holiday Inn brand standards. This includes cooking menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff, preparing food for service (chopping vegetables, butchering meat, preparing sauces, etc.), setting up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies, answering to and following Executive Chef’s instructions.
Also includes cleaning up station, taking care of leftover food appropriately, and stocking inventory. Cooks play a key role in contributing to guest satisfaction. He/she must ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely fashion. Requires familiarity with hotel and franchise standards and procedures, and the ability to attend to the needs and requests of guests.

Between 1801 and 1805 John Mark Verdier (1759-1827), a second-generation French Huguenot, built his home in Beaufort’s main business district. A successful merchant representing the Charleston firm of Smith, DeSaussure & Daryl, Verdier acquired over 1,000 acres of land on Lady’s Island along the Coosaw River and was growing sea island cotton in the early decades of the 19th century.
The house which is located at 801 Bay Street in the heart of the downtown historic and commercial district is a premier representation of Beaufort’s residential architecture and was a highly visible statement of Verdier’s rise as a successful merchant and planter. Built with typical Beaufort Style architectural elements, this important Federal Period residence faces south, rests on a high tabby foundation, boasts a two-story pedimented portico and has a low-pitched hip roof.
