About Alice Edwards, MS, LCDC, LPC I, MRT, LPPT
Alice Edwards, MS, LCDC, LPC I, MRT, LPPT, is a licensed professional counselor at Hope Recovery Services, Inc in Houston. She specializes in outpatient substance abuse, relapse prevention, and mental health services for individuals and families. With her extensive training and experience, Dr. Edwards provides outstanding care to patients of all ages and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Dr. Edwards is an expert in substance use disorders and has spent more than 20 years working in the field of addiction intervention and treatment. She also offers a broad range of mental health services, including domestic violence counseling, anger management training, parenting classes, and individual and group therapy. Dr. Edwards is qualified to provide counseling in driving while intoxicated (DWI) cases that satisfy the State of Texas requirements.
After receiving her undergraduate degree in business management, Dr. Edwards completed both a Master of Science and a Doctorate of Philosophy in human services and professional counseling. She has advanced training and certifications in substance abuse, social work, marriage and family counseling, cognitive behavioral therapy, and moral reconation therapy. Dr. Edwards is a licensed professional pastoral therapist (LPPT) and is certified in The Genesis Process.
Dr. Alice Edwards is a published author and is writing her second book. In her spare time she writes poetry and has several poems published in anthologies on record at the Library of Congress in Washington DC, which she won numerous awards for. She also spends time with her granddaughter, and loves the beach.
Dr. Edwards always connect with her patients in ways unique to each person. She understands the stressors life experiences brings in ones life, and leads each patient through their treatment goals. Dr. Edwards gives extra attention to every patient no matter what. If the patient is willing she will go the extra mile. She has proven that, by traveling miles to get to a destination to meet a patient, and stay as long as necessary to make sure the patient feels safe, has closure, questions answered, and understands what's expected of him or her. This sets her services apart from all the rest.
