Hopewell CPR Training is currently seeking part time and full-time instructors to teach the American Heart Association (AHA) BLS, First Aid & CPR training courses in the Greater Sacramento Area. The instructor will teach onsite at our campuses and the option to extend into other regions as needed.
IINSTRUCTOR DUTIES
Work with the Program Coordinator and staff to ensure quality of the courses meet AHA standards.
Managing CPR training classes.
Understand upcoming class logistics and assist with preparation.
Ensure students are up to date with their schedule and send reminders.
Keep track of company updates and disperse knowledge.
Other various instructor needs.
Physical Location Management: office and classroom upkeep.
Tech, A/V equipment upkeep and maintenance.
Roster and payment collection/processing.
Managing supplies and inventory
Meet and adapt to class needs either at location or onsite
Be accessible always during business hours via personal phone (call or text)
Quality Control: Ensure all paperwork is being done properly.
Collect and process reviews and instructor evaluations.
Shadow classes for continued learning and / or oversight.
Identify gaps/needs and create solutions.
Participate in new instructor hire process.
Teach and mentor new instructors.
Teaching Classes: Routine location hosted classes, On-demand onsite classes, assist in large classes.
SKILLS REQUIRED
Motivated to ensure that students acquire the skills necessary for successful course completion.
Knowledge of time management techniques to structure activity to accomplish the most possible in the time available.
Ability to provide accurate information or assistance to students, staff, and faculty in a timely and courteous manner.
Ability to listen actively and demonstrate understanding. Knowledge of current developments in related fields of specialization.
Ability to deal in a professional and courteous manner with a variety of individuals.
Oral and written skills to convey information accurately, thoroughly, and in a manner easily understood by students, staff and faculty.
Ability to keep up to date on changes in policies and procedures to maintain current working knowledge. Ability to make timely decisions appropriate to the situation, circumstances, and facts at hand.
Motivated to ensure that students acquire the skills necessary for successful course completion.

The New 2020 American Heart Association Guidelines for CPR & ECC has added an additional link to the chain of survival for Adult and Pediatric patients to address the physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being of survivors after cardiac arrest
It is recommended that hospitals provide comprehensive, multidisciplinary discharge planning that includes not only medical but rehabilitative treatment for survivors. The expectation is that survivors return to their roles and social functioning.
