Hopkins Icehouse isn’t just the best bar and grill in downtown Texarkana, TX— it’s an institution. In eras past, an ice house was a building used for storing ice. The perfect place to keep beer, right? Men began storing their beer in theice houses and would meet upafter work for a cold one. With electricity came refrigerators, but men were so accustomed to hanging out in ice houses that they started building modern-day structureswhere they could congregate for handmade food and great service. Today, George Dodson and David Jones carry on the ice house tradition at Hopkins Icehouse. The bar and grill serves everything from appetizers and salads to sandwiches, pizza,hamburgers, and Nathan’s hot dogs. Hopkins Icehouse also offers brunch every Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Come down to the ice house to watch the next big gameand share a bunch of appetizers with friends and family. For the adventurous eater, Hopkins Icehouse has stuffed jalapenos, filled with their own special stuffing and wrapped in bacon. For the more refined palate, the bar and grill offers a misto tray, an arrangement of goat cheese, smoked Gouda, and Brie; strawberries, grapes, and apples; roasted walnuts; and honey served with flat bread and balsamic vinaigrette. Cool place! Neat atmosphere. Group of 4, we had steak fingers, burger and 2 shared luau pizza. All 3 were excellent. Saved room for bread pudding desert....
Nice venue. Love the wings and the fried mushrooms. A little loud inside, but it is a bar. But we still had a good time. Will be back.
