Julio Navarro, MD, FAAFP is a board-certified family medicine physician with more than three decades of experience. At Horizons Family Practice, his highly-rated medical practice in Newark, Delaware, he provides a comprehensive range of primary, acute, and specialty care services to adult and pediatric patients alike.
Dr. Navarro feels that his role as a primary care physician is to provide his patients with the education, advice, care, compassion, and support they need to achieve and maintain optimal health. He also believes that building solid, one-on-one relationships with his patients are the best way to ensure personalized, high-quality health care.
Besides offering a full scope of primary and preventive care services for patients of all ages, Dr. Navarro also specializes in occupational health and aesthetic medicine. He takes a multidisciplinary approach to injury rehabilitation that incorporates conservative measures like chiropractic care and therapeutic massage as well as innovative treatments like deep tissue laser therapy.
Dr. Navarro also has extensive experience with the Icon™ Aesthetic System by CynoSure®, which is widely considered one of the most advanced cosmetic laser platforms available.
After receiving his undergraduate degree at the University of Puerto Rico in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, Dr. Navarro went on to earn his medical degree at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in Rio Piedras. He completed both his internship and his residency at St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware.
Dr. Navarro is board-certified in family medicine and certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners; he’s also a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. He’s an active member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Delaware Academy of Family Physicians, and the New Castle County Medical Society.
